Hosted at the White House Place Learning Garden located in Koreatown, local participants and members and staff of BVCLT created a simplified version of banggoomeong yeon, or the Corean fighter kite. The parallel was stressed between BVCLT’s mission in collective land stewardship and the collective stewardship of ancestral knowledge and art forms such as traditional kite-making. Through a powerpoint presentation, participants gained knowledge about historical usages and forms of kites in multiple regions beyond Corea.
